Breadboard

A small rectangular board used in electronic circuit prototyping.

Uses

A breadboard, also called a protoboard (apparently), is a piece of plastic with copper wires in it, that helps make circuits more managable. They come in different sizes and shapes, and are a great investment for beginners. The top of the breadboard is covered in rows of holes (suited for ), described by a color or number indicator. The undersurface contains conductive paths, that follow the rows of holes on the top, both horizontally and vertically (see figure below).

We recommend using breadboards for prototyping, as it is much easier to find mistakes in the circuit, when it is neatly organized, compared to a pile of soldered wires.
